what is toki pona?

toki pona (or toki pona) is a constructed language.

It was originally drafted up by Sonja Lang in 2001, and has been evolving as a community ever since!
Today, there's a plethora of art, music, stories, and even games.

why do people learn it?

toki pona offers a variety of insentives to learn:

• use as a tool to combat depression or depressive thoughts
• a multi-cultural community of friendly, queer and neurodivergent speakers
• learning what its like to become proficent in another language
• use as an intermediary language for those without a common language
• use as a secret language for you and your friends
